Here was our Supper Club in June 2025 at House, Heaton.

The Table Project CIC came together with Freska to host an intimate supper club for women working in hospitality. The evening was all about connection, bringing women around the table in a relaxed and welcoming setting where they could get to know one another, share stories, and build a real sense of community.

With a smaller, intimate group, the supper club created space for genuine conversations and meaningful connections. It was a chance to step away from the day to day pressures of the industry, meet others with shared experiences, and begin building friendships that can last beyond the event.

The menu was created by Sonal of Freska, who cooked a beautiful Malaysian inspired feast for the evening. The food was vibrant, generous, and full of heart, perfectly reflecting the warmth and care behind the collaboration and the community it brought together.

Table Project X Freska X Smartworks

The Table Project CIC partnered with Freska and Smart Works to host a special supper club centred on connection, support, and community.

Smart Works is a charity dedicated to helping women back into employment, and this collaboration brought together shared values of empowerment, care, and opportunity.

The evening was designed around one big table, with a family style sharing menu that encouraged conversation and togetherness. Sitting side by side, guests were able to connect naturally, share experiences, and build a sense of community in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Freska created a generous menu made for sharing, reinforcing the spirit of the evening and the power of coming together over food. The supper club offered a welcoming space for women to feel seen, supported, and connected, celebrating the strength that comes from collaboration and shared purpose

BARE was created as an open and welcoming introduction to the world of wine, hosted by Ailsa Samuels of House Assemble Newcastle alongside sommelier Vanessa Stoltz of Pine. The aim of the event was to break down the elitism often associated with wine and make learning about it feel accessible, relaxed, and enjoyable for everyone.

Starting right at the beginning, guests were guided through the fundamentals of wine in a supportive and informal setting. The session covered where wine comes from, different grape varieties, how to smell, taste, and describe wine, and the differences between Old World and New World styles, with plenty of space for questions and curiosity along the way.

BARE encouraged guests to trust their own senses and experiences, removing the pressure to “get it right” and instead focusing on confidence, enjoyment, and understanding. The event created a friendly learning environment that empowered attendees to engage with wine on their own terms and feel more at home in wine focused spaces.

Following the success of our first BARE session, we hosted BARE 2 — a relaxed and interactive introduction to food and wine pairing at Lubber Kitchen. Guests enjoyed five wines paired with bespoke canapés while learning about flavour balance, texture, and pairing techniques.

Guided by sommeliers Ailsa Samuels (House/Assemble) and Vanessa Stoltz (Pine, Northumberland), the session offered an approachable space to build confidence in tasting, describing, and understanding wine.

The afternoon combined practical learning with a sociable atmosphere, giving attendees skills they could take back into both hospitality and everyday life.
